Morgan Silver Dollar

Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan (1845-1925) designed the Morgan Dollar, and the coin was minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. The United States Mint transformed its US Silver Dollar program in 1921. This iconic silver dollar exhibited the country’s westward and industrial development in the late 19th century. In addition, a few things make a 1921 Silver Morgan Dollar rare: It was the final year that Silver dollar minting occurred; only a minimal number of these coins are stamped compared to other years; a lot of these coins were melted down over the years, so there are hardly any in existence today.
